When SNAP Recipients Will Get Their Full November Benefits

The U.S. government recently ended a shutdown that delayed monthly SNAP (food stamp) payments for millions of Americans.

After the government reopened, President Trump’s administration told states to make sure people get their full November SNAP benefits as quickly as possible.

Why This Matters

SNAP helps millions of Americans – including children, elderly, and people with disabilities – buy food each month. The payment delays caused stress for many families who rely on these benefits for groceries.

When Will Payments Arrive?

The Department of Agriculture said that once the shutdown ended and the President signed the bill, money started going to states right away.

Most states were expected to send out November payments within 24 hours after the shutdown ended, but some said it could take a few days to get everything processed.

States That Have Already Paid Full Benefits

Several states were able to issue November SNAP payments immediately, even before the shutdown ended, by using their own funds or following court orders. These states include:

  • California
  • Connecticut
  • Washington D.C.
  • Kansas
  • Maine
  • Massachusetts
  • Michigan
  • Minnesota
  • New Hampshire
  • New Jersey
  • New Mexico
  • New York
  • Rhode Island
  • Washington
  • West Virginia
  • Wisconsin

States With a Timeline for Payments

Other states shared updates about when residents should expect their payments. Some examples:

  • Alabama: Payments by November 13 or on regular issue dates for some.
  • Arkansas: Payments expected by late November 13 or November 14.
  • Colorado: Payments expected as soon as November 13.
  • Delaware: Payments could arrive as early as November 18.
  • Georgia: Remainder of benefits by November 18.
  • Hawaii: Most payments already sent; some new applicants will get them next week.
  • Idaho: Payments by November 14.
  • Illinois: Payments by November 20.
  • Iowa: Payments by November 14.

Kentucky, Louisiana, Maryland, Montana, Nevada, North Carolina, North Dakota, Ohio, Oklahoma, Oregon, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Utah, Vermont, Virginia: Each of these states provided specific dates ranging from now through the end of November for when full SNAP benefits would be available.

States Still Finalizing Dates

Some states, including Arizona, Indiana, Missouri, Nebraska, and Texas, are still working out the exact dates but say they are moving quickly to get payments sent out.

What To Remember

  • SNAP recipients in most states should receive their full November benefits soon if they haven’t already.
  • Each state has its own process, so payment dates can differ.
  • Families are encouraged to check with their state’s SNAP office or websites for specific timing.

If you rely on SNAP, your benefits should be coming soon. If you haven’t received them yet, check your state’s SNAP website or contact your local office for updates.
